Cryptocurrencies have been growing in popularity recently, with an interest from people of all ages. This is due to the cryptocurrency being decentralized, which means that transactions are not processed by any bank or government agency. As of November 2017. Bitcoin is the best-known example of a crypto currency, but it is by no means the only one. There are at least 636 more out there with names like Litecoin, Dash, and Monero.
Digital currencies have been around for years, but they’ve only really exploded in recent months thanks to the meteoric rise of Bitcoin.
It is important to note that although cryptocurrencies are becoming more popular, they are not currently controlled or regulated by any central authority.
Crypto currencies are encrypted digital currencies. These are not currently regulated by any central bank, making them difficult to track. Some of the most popular crypto currencies include Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Monero. One advantage to these types of currencies is that they are not tied to a certain country or economic system and can be bought or traded anywhere in the world. However, investing in them requires a high degree of risk and many people choose not to invest for this reason.
On the 5th of February 2021, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) released a letter addressing banks and other financial institutions which prohibits dealing in crypto currencies and facilitating payment for crypto currency exchanges
Banks and other financial institutions were also instructed to identify individuals or entities who transact in crypto currency or operate crypto currency exchanges and close their accounts.
This survey is to get the opinion of the public on the ban of crypto currency transaction in Nigeria.
